What is MACIMED

MACIMED, Alternative Touristic Cycling Mobility Through Mediterranean Islands. It can be considered a TRANSnational project born in the area of the " Program of Community Initiative " ( P.I.C.) Interreg III B MEDOCC,financed by European Union and created thanks to the collaboration of the Province of Cagliari (headleader), the Regional Province of Catania and the Government of Baleari's Islands.

The Project suggests people an interesting idea to consider and use BICYCLE as the most important, economic and healthy means of transport. Surely it is an alternative way of moving!! This is a project created in order to improve the use of specific areas in a naturalistic, historical and cultural way. It can be possible with the creation of specific cycle lanes ridden even by people with moving problems. The Project will give people the possibility to use public transports too.
According with this idea, the project suggests to observe carefully the possible existence of geographical problems and consequently to organize their immediately solution. Finally the project can realize its cycle lanes and everything will be communicate to people through information activities.
