Cagliari and its Pilot Project

PROJECT

1. ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL STUDY

a) demographic analysis (demographic changes in the provincia di Cagliari)
b) productive system and economic increase
c) Tourism analysis (provincial touristic system is essentially connected with sea activities and its demand).
In this area the relation between tourism and environment protection is particularly relevant: the big amount of natural resources has to be organized following the economic aspect of the country, local people interest and tourists need.

2. REALIZING STUDY

a) Sample area (reaching the area, using existing cycle lanes, low slopes, going for interesting and naturalistic areas.)
b) Locate the area ( useful for people with moving problems, give people the opportunity to use bicycle and train. Give people the opportunity to reach cycle lanes by car, train or public services.
c) Pilot Project (CYCLE LANES: Isili - Nuragus about 8 km.)

3. NATURAL AND HISTORICAL SETTINGS

Interested area:

useful for people with moving problems
give people the opportunity to use bicycle and train
give people the opportunity to reach cycle lanes by own means of transport or by public services

Cycle Lane: ( Isily station - Touristic Way from Isily to Sorgono )

Making new places useful for:

LINE: it is created on an existing but unused railway. So, it is very easy to change this line on a Cycle lane for touristic use

CYCLE LANE: it will be realized on a natural flat ground, respecting environment

ROADSIGNS: it is realized paying the right attention to the ordinary traffic

PROTECTION’SWORKS: It will be created a series of security barriers using wood materials assuring the right integration with the environment.
