Baleari Islands

Composed of Maiorca, Menorca, Ibiza e Formentera, Baleari Islands are located in the Mediterranean Sea. Their surface is about 5.061 kmq and their coasts are over 1.200 km long.It is an interesting place where the quality of life is an attractive caracteristic.

The temperate weather conditions during the year, makes these Islands a pleasant place where you can have a good time, strictly connected with natural beauties.

But it is not just a sunny and sea place! You can find here very friendly people with its strong economy based above all on touristic business.

During the last years a big amount of European people (particularly English and German people ) reached the Islands attracted by the good quality of life. The large number of inhabitants and their economy seem to be situated along the coasts. There you can find the most important infrastructures. It make easier tourism increase and doesn’t demage the natural landscapes.

Baleari Islands are an important place where people can meet and live together with their own language, religion and culture.

Baleari’s touristic system is the most important economic sector of the islands. It is a great resource for seasonal employment, infact the 75% of occupation stands here.Building economy is another economic sector standing here with the 14% of employment, followed by the Industrial sector with the 9% and the primary sector with the 2%.

Baleari Islands represent one of the Autonomous Spanish Community with the lower index of unemployment.

Its touristic system offers lots of good services: from restaurants, to discos, bars, shops and ather touristi services. It also offers a special kind of sporting tourism, cultural tourism and agro-tourism. So the Islands tourism appears very competitive compared to the other touristic destinations.

About the nautical tourism you can find here different and modern touristic harbour where lots of boat race are performed. Golf with its Golf clubs is another attractive that the Islands can offer to tourists.Cycling is the most important sport that attract people in the Islands.Most of European cyclists with their team choose these places to train during all the year. For this reason we are trying to increase this particular kind of tourism, creating a series of new cycle lanes.
